By engaging with Maria Steene Breakup & Divorce Coach, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Scope of Services
    Maria Steene provides coaching services designed to support individuals navigating divorce, separation, and other deeper emotional challenges regarding survivors of domestic abuse. These services aim to provide emotional support, practical guidance, and coping strategies but do not replace legal, financial, or medical advice.
  2. Client Responsibilities and Expectations
    Clients are expected to actively participate and engage in the interactive coaching process. Results will vary based on individual commitment and application of the strategies discussed.
  3. Confidentiality
    All information shared during sessions will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Disclosure will only occur when legally required, such as in cases of safeguarding concerns or court orders.
  4. Fees and Payment
    – Payment for sessions is required no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Confirmation of the agreed payment terms will be provided via email before the session.
  5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
    – Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a charge equal to 50% of the session fee.
    – Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a charge equal to 100% of the session fee, with the exception of last-minute emergency circumstances discussed in advance with Maria Steene
    – To avoid charges, please notify us of any changes as early as possible. Rescheduling requests are subject to availability.
  6. Session Scheduling and Duration
    Sessions will be scheduled at mutually convenient times and confirmed in advance.
    – If an extension of session time is necessary, this will be discussed and agreed upon during the session.
    – Any adjustments to session duration or rescheduling will be arranged beforehand, and payment for time by the client will be made in advance.
  7. Code of Conduct
    Professionalism, respect, and courtesy are expected from both parties throughout the coaching process. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in termination of services.
  8. Termination of Services
    – Provider-Initiated Termination: Services may be terminated for reasons such as non-payment, disruptive behaviour, or failure to comply with these terms.
    – Client-Initiated Termination: Clients may end their engagement by providing written emailnotice.
  9. Liability and Disclaimers
    – Maria Steene Breakup & Divorce Coach does not offer legal or medical advice. Services provided are for emotional support, self-reflection, and personal development.
    – Clients remain responsible for their own decisions, actions, and outcomes following sessions.
  10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
    These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
    – All coaching services are provided under UK jurisdiction and are insured within the United Kingdom.
    – Any disputes arising will be resolved under the applicable laws of England and Wales.
  11. Amendments
    Maria Steene Breakup & Divorce Coach reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on the website, and clients are encouraged to review them periodically.

Online & Remote Policy

This policy outlines the professional standards and responsibilities for practitioners providing online coaching. It aims to ensure a safe, effective, and ethical environment for all clients.

Practitioner Responsibilities
All practitioners providing online and face-to-face coaching will:

  1. Understand the Distinctions Between Online and Face-to-Face coaching sessions.
    Practitioners are given ongoing and the most up-to-date training regarding the unique dynamics of both, including its potential impact on the practitioner/client relationship and process.
  2. Conduct Thorough Client Assessments
    Practitioners will assess client suitability for any online or in-person sessions prior to commencing sessions with them, ensuring that online work is an appropriate medium for the client’s needs.
  3. Maintain Appropriate Insurance
    Practitioners must secure insurance coverage that explicitly includes face-to-face and online coaching activities and advice.
  4. Verify Client Identity
    Practitioners must take reasonable steps to ensure that the client presenting for coaching is who they claim to be.
  5. Obtain signed Client Agreement to this Coaching Contract prior to the first session.
    Practitioners must ensure clients have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions of this personal coaching contract.
  6. No online Zoom, webinars or phone calls, will ever be recorded – complete client discretion is guaranteed

The contract shall confirm the following:
– The client is not under supervision for a diagnosed psychiatric condition, is not experiencing epilepsy, (unless taking GP prescribed medication to control this), and is not under a psychiatrist’s care.
– The client will not partake in sessions under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs and will provide details of any prescribed medications.
– The client will ensure a safe, private, and distraction-free environment for coaching and disclose if others are present during sessions.
– The client agrees not to record sessions without Maria Steene’s prior consent.
– The client understands that Maria Steene may terminate the session without warning if it is determined that the session was booked for purposes other than coaching. In such cases, any pre-paid fees will remain non-refundable.

  1. Emergency Protocols and Backup Contacts
    Practitioners must establish an emergency plan, including a backup contact number or text arrangement in case of technology failure, as well as a third-party emergency contact for safety purposes.
  2. Provide Clear Communication Regarding Technical Failures
    Practitioners must ensure clients understand the procedures for handling technical disruptions, such as server outages or computer malfunctions.
  3. Maintain Financial Transparency
    Practitioners must provide clients with clear records of email transactions and a detailed breakdown of all fees paid.
  4. Ensure Privacy and Data Protection
    Practitioners must safeguard the privacy and integrity of their computer systems. This includes using appropriate cybersecurity measures and removing client materials from their system at the conclusion of the coaching relationship.
  5. Adapt to the Online Medium
    Practitioners must adapt their coaching approach to meet the needs of online clients, ensuring clients receive the same standard of care as in face-to-face sessions.

Client Responsibilities
Clients are required to adhere to the following responsibilities as part of their commitment to the coaching process:

– Attend sessions from a private, distraction-free location.
– Refrain from recording sessions without prior consent.
– Ensure compliance with the agreed emergency plan in case of technological or safety concerns.
